  1. Hi Ash! I found your blog! I hope I am doing this right I have never seen a blog before. Your photos of Italy are so beautiful, I loved the one of the church with the light beaming in and of course Michelangelo’s Pieta’. Was the church St. Peter’s Basilica? Italy looks like a place with a profound simplicity that is kept secret. I hope you are having a wonderful adventure. Love you both! Aunt Lisa

    1. Thanks, Aunt Lisa! Yes, Italy is beautiful…Rome has so much amazing art! Most of the pictures are from the Vatican Museum or St. Peter’s Basilica (the church with the light streaming in…a huge, overwhelming place) and every square inch is covered by colorful art. We also saw Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, which was amazing (no pics allowed though). I loved Assisi…the entire town is made of pink stone and St. Francis’s tomb is a very special place.

  2. Wow that’s awesome. We are hoping to get down there ever we leave this summer. I was wondering what happened to you ;)

    1. Yes, I’m still here…just super busy with school right now! :) You should definitely try to get to Italy before you leave! It is a special place and not too hard to get to from Germany. I think there are even direct trains from Germany to Venice and the ride is beautiful as you cross the Alps. Of all the big cities, Florence is probably our favorite.
